I’ve always wondered why more romance reader book clubs don’t exist. Romance has the largest readership in any other fiction genre. Well, I’ve decided to rectify this travesty in Central Jersey. Yesterday, I posted on Meetup.com my brand new Romance Readers Bookclub page. Every month we will be reading a romance novel and then meeting up to talk about it.
The first book we’re going to tackle is written by the mother of classic romance, Jane Austen. ‘Pride and Prejudice’ is one of my favorites and I think it’s a great starting point for a book club because there is just SO much to talk about. For example, did you know that Austen thought about titling the story “Sense and Sensibility” instead because the word ‘sense’ is used over 70 times in the story? It’s true!
I’m going to get a feel for the group first. At the end of our first meeting, one of the members will pick a subgenre out of a bag and we’ll read a book in that subgenre for the next meeting. I’m really excited about it, BUT I’d like to get some suggestions from you guys. Does anyone have romance novels they absolutely ADORE and think we should use for our book club? Looking forward to hearing about your favorite reads!

Hi there! Wonderful to hear a book club is staring up.
I’d love to suggest my Native American (historical) romance, Where The Rain Is Made. You can read the reviews on Kindle (please do) http://amzn.to/ozTQPS. WTRIM has been nominated for BEST e-novel of the year by Authors After Dark. The book has also won many awards, Best Book of the Month, Recommended Read, Top Pick and many more at the top reviewer sites.
I’d be honored if your new club would read the book and discuss it.
Thanks so much, Keta
