The Hurricane, My Tooth, and Revisions for the Weekend

The Hurricane, My Tooth, and Revisions

Hurricane Irene swept up the East Coast this weekend and unfortunately, so many people lost their homes, their possessions, and their piece of mind. I fell into category number three. My Saturday started with finding my friend’s cat, and then I stayed with her through the weekend since I had no power at my apartment.

On to the tooth. On Tuesday, I had my molar pulled out. That’s right. Pulled out. Completely. The bastard dentist took a pair of fancy looking pliers and yanked it out of my mouth. I was numbed up but it still HURTS. Now i have a big gaping hole where my tooth should have been and I’m worried that I’ll get food in it. Right now I’m on a soft foods diet so I don’t think mashed potatoes and jello will do much harm, but I worry about these things anyway.

Lastly, I am still neck deep in revisions. I finished pre-galley edits for my novella ‘The Cowboy and the Rose’ which has a WONDERFUL cover (see previous blog entry). Copyedits are next, but in the mean time, I’m working on edits for my YA which is going great…sort of. I keep tweaking and tweaking and tweaking…you get my drift.

The good news is, I have labor day weekend to really focus on revisions. My goal is to get them done by Monday…my REALISTIC goal is to get them done by the end of September.

So that’s my very brief, and absolutely sporadic overview of my week. *Sips coffee* Anyone else got plans for this weekend? Anyone? ANYONE?? *tweaks some more*
